A halastó őre bejelenti Niklainak, a mezőháti termelőszövetkezet elnökének, hogy Deczki agronómus százhúsz kiló hallal többet szállíttatott el, mint amit a menetlevelen feltüntettek. A vezetőség az agronómus áthelyezése mellett dönt. A csinos Deczkiné azonban eljár a megyénél, és néhány nap múlva Niklait gyalázó cikk jelenik meg a megyei lapban, ellenőrök hada gátolja a munkát, úgyhogy az elnök elveszti a tagok bizalmát. Az összeköttetéseiről híres Deczki ugyan leállíttatja a vizsgálatot, de a megyei osztály vezetőjétől ígéretet kap, hogy a következő évre elnök lesz belőle. FE

Plot Summary / (Tartalom – angol nyelven):

The guard of the fish pond reports to Niklai, president of the co-operative in Mezőhát, that Deczki, the agronomist of the co-operative had fish transported but a hundred and twenty kilograms more than it was ordered officially. The board of directors decides to get rid of the agronomist. However, the pretty Mrs. Deczki goes to the county council to do something about it, and a few days later, the county paper publishes an article with defaming statements about Niklai. The work at the co-operative is seriously hindered by a great deal of inspectors, so the president loses the members' confidence. Deczki who is famous for having a lot of relations with influential people has the investigation stopped, but the leader of a county department promises him that he will be the president next year.
